The Elephone S8 has the screen of the Xiaomi Mi Mix and the body of the Galaxy S8. It has an almost Bezel less 2K Quad HD Screen with very good quality. Underneath bares a midrange Mediatek Helio P25 Chipset.

Bezel less screen similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix and the body similar to the Galaxy S8

The list of specs and the first look of the Elephone S8 is amazing, it combines the features of the Xiaomi Mi Mix (Bezel-less screen) and the Galaxy S8 Body, you can watch the promotional video above. From the first look, you can still see bezels at the top, albeit much narrower and probably similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The front camera is now located at the bottom portion, near the home button.

2K Quad HD Screen and 21 mp Camera are the main selling points?

More likely, plus it is advertised as Bezel-less, which has now become a trend nowadays. The 6.0 inch screen is the best size to capitalize the pixels and color saturation. Also, Elephone has advertised this to also offer 21 mp Sony IMX camera, but with regards to the type of sensor, it is still not yet known at this time. By the way, it can also shoot 4K video.

2K Quad HD Screen but only a Helio X25 Chipset?

Well, I know personally the performance of the Mediatek Helio X25, having used the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. The chipset, is quite a powerful Soc, but it isn’t that efficient compared to the Snapdragon 625 or the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. I think the 2K Quad HD Screen is a bit too much for this smartphone. And more likely, running games at these resolution will not be the smoothest gaming possible. I think, the chipset is only capable of up to 1080p, for acceptable gaming. So, I wouldn’t expect blistering gaming performance on it.
