The HDC Galaxy S4 Legend II is practically the same hardware and specification with the previous  HDC Galaxy Legend. So, In case you’re wondering what’s new? The phone now supports Dual Sim micro Simcard and also Gesture and Smart stay capabilities.

Don’t be mislead on the Exynos 5410 Octa Core processor, the Legend 2 only features the Quad Core MT6589 (midrange processor). Additionally, I’ve had  complaints of users having problems with 3G connection using 850MHz,it seems to be non-existent. Although it does support 2100MHz WCDMA. Thus, you should determine if 3G connection is  supported on your area. click here

Been going through your site and now looking for a steer on my decision on an S4 Clones.

I want all the bits n bobs that come with the air gestures etc but what is just as important is the GPS performance and Camera Quality.

GPS seems pretty bad on most chinese phones but which ones have you found to perform best.

Camera quality is again dubious. This interpolation causes more trouble than solves imho i.e it also interpolates the noise. Can you advise which in your opinion gives the best pictures.

On the camera LED flash mines is particuarly dim when compared to my original. Is there any phones with as good an led?

Hello WrathOfKain,

Cool name BTW
Here’s what i think about s4 clones,

1. theyre cheap i give you that
2. They look and like the Real thing (although dimensions are a bit off) meaning may be thicker than usual
3. They are usually powered by midrange processor (MT6589)
4. Good Display (720p HD Display, good quality and color saturation)
5. although they may say its 1:1 ratio (its not, battery from real S4 doesnt fit because of NFC support), clone S4 usually are much thicker and broader
6. Decent performance between 11 to 13K on antutu synthetic benchmarks, PowerVR SGX544 enough for gaming and video playback
7. Camera. Hmmmmmm… decent quality, but not that good especially in low light situations, LED is good also although not that bright
8. GPS. Again Hmmmm… not reliable i give you that, some work, some dont, and usually needs firmware updates to be done in order to solve issue.
9. BUGS: although a common issue among china phones, occurs when you empty the battery of your phone, the phone has difficulty starting up again.
10. It comes with Android 4.2 jellybean but not optimize, i mean battery life is clearly not on par with original S4.

Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Vince

Yeah I am pretty much on the same page with you there.

I am looking at getting another 2 phones. Just about to send back the one i got from priceangels.

Not sure if I should get the EX, Legend, Spark or wait for the Octo. I would imagine they willl all drop further in price with the Octo coming online so may opt for the Legend as there seems to be alot of mod support for it ….. and maybe get an EX one for myself.

Just thinking … this is a pretty honest summary for the range and worthy of lifting up into one of your web pages.

Sorry nearly forgot. On the camera you mentioned they are all interpolated but I think I saw two different setups you mention:

1 – 8 Interpolated to 13
2 – 13 Interpolated to 16

Cannot remember exactly but which one has the highest base resolution before interpolation. Just thinking that would make the best of what there is.

Also do you know if its possible to remove the interpolation? I would rather have a native 8 or 13mp than it to be interpolated by a few mp and the quality end up suffering for it.

Hello WrathOfKain,

is this a reference to C&C tiberium wars? hehe
in terms of interpolation, most cameras if it mentions of 13/12 megapixel (real is 8mp),
as well as 18 mp (real is also just 8 mp)
I think you can only find the best cameras with brands like Meizu, Xiaomi (sony f2.2 lens)
but for the rest, its interpolated. you can remove the interpolation by updating to another ROM.
Actually the videos and images are not bad, it is just not particularly impressive compared to the REAL thing.
especially on low lit areas, there you can see the difference, On well lit areas, its decent enough with natural colors but in lacking in terms of depth

Vince

lol long time since i have played C&C

It is a pain because i think most of us would happily pay the extra $ to get solid wifi/GPS and a good camera.

So the EX model is basically another 8mp interpolated to a 16mp …. god that must be awful quality ….. there is a saying in my county:

“You cannot polish a turd”

Can you tell me which one of the HDC range this matched with:

http://www.priceangels.com/Air-Gesture-P-i9500-Full-Size-S4-5-inch-3G-Smartphone-MTK6589-Quad-Core-Android-4-2-2-With-HD-Capacitive-Touch-Screen-Dual-Camera-Wi-Fi-GPS-1G-RAM-White–s594968.html

Seems to me they are mainly all the same but sold from different suppliers.

“Don’t be mislead on the Exynos 5410 Octa Core processor, the Legend 2 only features the Quad Core MT6589)”

That is NOT true… I have received a HDC Legend 2 just a few days ago and ofcourse i ran some tests on it with several apps… If you open the link below you will see a image on which the HDC Galaxy S4 Legend 2 is shown with the results of Antutu. As you can see there IS a Octa Core in there which scores a hefty 28222 points on Antutu… I think you need to revise your review…

Hello Excorio,

the only china phone fitted with Exynos 5410 octa core is the Meizu MX3, revise the test with the newest Antutu benchmark or you may use quadrant or other test. and compare it with galaxy s4 (original)
thank you

Hi Vincent! Thank you for your review. I would like to make you a question please.

Are you you sure that the Galaxy Legend II has an MTK 6989 processor? I have bought one and I have run Antutu X Benchmark 4 and it says its in effect a 4 core, but don’t say nothing about MTK processor.

In the fastcardtech page they say it runs an Universal5410 Quad Core 1.6GHz http://www.fastcardtech.com/HDC-Galaxy-S4-Legend-Dual-Sim, and the HDC page say the same thing http://hdcmobile.com/hdc-galaxy-s4-legend-dual-simcard.html

Can you tell me about some software to make areal test to my phone?

Thank you, best wishes
