Compared to the LeTV Le 2 Max, what is the difference/Similarities

Better Battery Life

  • Le 2 Max (3000mAh, Retina Display and Snapdragon 820) – a bit frugal in terms of battery life, at most 6 hours of screen on time
  • The Le Pro 3 X720 (4070maH, 1080p Display and Snapdragon 821) – 11 hours of screen on time, almost doubles the Le 2 Max. Also the drop to 1080p also helps improve the battery a lot.

CDLA (Continuous Digital Lossless Audio), means, no more 3.5mm Audio Jack

Both phones offers the same excellent Audio Quality via the USB Type C adapter. Although it is still annoying to be carrying around the adapter just to use a headphone. The Audio Quality is still top notch and probably one of the best.

Good Loudspeakers

LeTV has always been great on making an all in one Multimedia machine. And the Le 2 Max and Le 3 Pro share this feature. The Loudspeakers are loud, crisps with audible bass. Although the CDLA feature sounds a lot better.

Downgrade to 1080p

The Le 2 Max had a Retina 1440p Display, which had roughly 500+ ppi, the overall quality was great, with good sunlight legibility and contrast levels. The Le Pro 3 X720, has downgraded to 1080p, probably to save on battery life. But the screen also is not the brightest 1080p display available. It does struggle on direct sunlight.

Same EUI 5.8 (Android 6.0 Marshmallow)

LeeCo’s proprietary OS and UI is still the same. All the customizations and features are similar to what you find on the Le 2 Max. The Camera UI is also identical. Unfortunately compared to other UI like the MIUI, it is left behind in terms of features.

Slightly improved Camera

The Artifacts seen on the 4K video of the Le 2 Max is now gone on the Le Pro 3 X720. Although the quality isn’t really superior, it still has low Audio Bit rate for video recordings and it lacks OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization). The Quality itself is good but not a marked improvement from its predecessor. Low light performance is on par and will not offer anything new.

The 8.0 megapixel front camera is fairly decent and similar quality offered on the Le 2 Max.

How about Design?

It still has that big damn bezels, and the design has changed only slightly. The most notable change is on the camera lens look.

So is the Le Pro 3 X720 better than the Le 2 Max?

Well in terms of battery life and performance, It definitely has an edge. But the UI remains unchanged, the camera performance isn’t a big leap in improvement and most of the features can be found on the Le 2 Max, which is now considerably cheaper and definitely the best value Flagship available.

  1. Hardware maybe great and peeps might go OMG over it but from the three LeTV 1S phones in our household not one survived a year of normal use. Within 8 months one popped its screen loose from the phone itself, one had the charging bug and simply died and the third one refused to have working volume and power buttons, 700 bucks down the drain and then for support you get the finger cuz you are not in China and then you need to send it back so they can repair it in effing China… Yeah right… Furthermore the international roms were/are crap and during use/charging they heated up like a bonfire. They can stick as much insane hardware in a pretty aluminium body as they can fit into it but I’m never ever going to buy Never LeTV. Even if this one might be better and without the flaws I mentioned from the 1S it’s still a Chinese phone with Chinese qualities assembled by people who are paid pennies for their hard work… Never again LeTV.

    • Im sorry for your bad experience.

I actually have good experience on LEECO, The first one was the Le 1 X800 (their flagship of 2015), and it is still working as it should, no issues and problems. Although Ive had to change the OS because I don’t live EUI that much. The next is the LeTV Le 2 Max, which I have been using alternately with some other phones. It still works 100%, I have had no issues in terms of reliability.

      Best Regards,
      Vince
