Mediatek Helio P10 vs. Helio X25 vs. Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 – Chipset Battle

This is a brief comparison between three popular mainstream Smartphone chipsets in the market today. The chipsets are represented by the Xiaomi Redmi Pro, Xiaomi Mi Max and UMI Max.

The video below compares the Xiaomi Redmi Pro (Mediatek Helio X25), Xiaomi Mi Max (Qualcomm Snapdragon 652) and Umi Max (Mediatek Helio P10).

Summary below…

Mediatek Helio X25 represented by the Xiaomi Redmi Pro

  • The Helio X25 Chipset belongs to the high mid-tier category and offers solid GPU and CPU performance. And from the benchmark tests on the video, it has the fastest CPU Performance. However, I did expect this because of the Deca (10) Cores in the system.
  • In terms of Gaming, the Mali-T880 still offers strong performance but is still weaker compared to the Adreno 510.
  • What other phones offer the same chipset?

Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 represented by the Xiaomi Mi Max

  • The Qualcomm Snapdragon 650/652 is a Hexacore chipset that still offers very good performance and gaming capabilities especially paired with the Adreno 510. On my benchmark tests (CPU), it is weaker compared to the Helio X25 but quite expected since it has lesser cores in the system. Also the benchmark scores based most of the performance on Multitasking.
  • Gaming is where the Adreno 510 truly excels. In my test, I had the “Best Gaming Experience”. All the games I’ve tested, mostly 3D intensive games like Mortal Combat X, Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8 ran fluidly without any slowdowns or frame rate issues.
  • What other phones offer the same chipset?

Mediatek Helio P10 represented by the UMI Max

  • The Mediatek Helio P10, I think replaces the old Mediatek MT6753, and a good fit to the Budget Category
  • In terms of Performance, it still offers strong overall performance however it is not as good in the gaming category.
  • In terms of Gaming, the Mali-T860 isn’t enough for 3D intensive games especially when paired with a 1080p Screen. As shown on the gaming test, the chip struggles on most games I’ve tested especially Asphalt 8.
  • What other phones with the same Chipset?
