The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is an upgrade of the Xiaomi Redmi 4x. It has identical hardware underneath but it does come with a much bigger 18:9 Screen. The phone still bares the overused Snapdragon 625 Chip and Adreno 506, which offers mid-end Performance. It is also running the latest Miui 9.

Xiaomi has finally adopted the 18:9 screen on their Budget Phones. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is basically an upgrade or reboot of the Xiaomi Redmi 4x. And it is perhaps the only Redmi to offer a 18:9 Screen. What that means, is a much bigger screen real estate while maintaining a cramped screen size. Anyway, at a glance especially seeing the specs, it hasn’t improved in terms of hardware. It still has the same overused Snapdragon 625 and Adreno 506, which offers mid-end performance but nothing really spectacular. And it doesn’t offer at least dual camera options, like the other budget midrangers like the Xiaomi Mi A1. It is also stuck with MicroUSB 2.0 instead of USB Type C. But I think the appealing factor for this phone is the bigger screen which as of recent, many phones have adopted.
